Escort detector in 'Innovations 2003 Design & Engineering Showcase'
West Chester, Ohio, January 8, 2003:
The family of award-winning detectors from Escort has grown again. December's release of the
completely redesigned cordless Solo S2 radar
and laser detector as the market champion was affirmed with the
S2's being named an Innovations 2003 Design &
Engineering Honoree winner. The Solo S2's
'next generation' detection and discrimination technology maintains Escort's supremacy in the
cordless radar detector market.
"The Solo S2 provides
Escort customers with the security of superior detection without compromising convenience,"
declares Tim Coomer, Escort's New Product Development Manager. "This level of performance has
never before been available in a cordless unit," added Coomer. The
Solo S2 leading edge cordless detector assists
customers in significant ways not available in other battery powered units. First, detection
sensitivity is over 400% improved versus its predecessor and is the undisputed best-in-the-world for
cordless performance. Next is the development of a totally new power management circuit - Escort
engineers worked eighteen months to successfully improve
S2's circuit technology by an order of magnitude
above battery-powered competitors. The fully programmable design is uniquely Escort and the user
interface is simply elegant. A cool-blue back-lit LCD display reports in detail all status
information concerning potential threats, programming commands, and user selectable profile
shaping.
The Solo S2 can be seen in the 2003 CES
Innovations Showcase and at Escort's display booth #2116.
Escort Inc. created the high-performance radar detector market in 1978, and has
been issued more patents in the radar detector field than all radar detector manufacturers combined.
ESCORT also manufactures the award-winning
Passport 8500 X50,
Passport 7500, and the
Passport SR7 radar and laser detectors.
