Escort radar detector establishes new cordless performance rules
West Chester, Ohio, January 8, 2003:
The award-winning line of Escort brand radar and laser detectors has a new member - the all-new
cordless SOLO S2. Immediately after its public
release in December, the SOLO S2 won the
Innovations 2003 Design and Engineering Award in the Mobile Electronics category. The
SOLO S2 clearly represents the next revolution in
cordless radar and laser protection.
"The SOLO S2 provides our
customers with the ultimate combination of superior protection, and battery-operated convenience,"
declares Tim Coomer, who leads Escort's New Product Development. He added, "Before the
SOLO S2, customers had to choose between
performance and convenience. They can now have both in a big way."
Remarkably, the S2 provides up
to 400% improvement on Ka-band radar vs. prior cordless radar detectors, with similar results on X and K
bands. Its new power management circuitry maximizes battery life, while the all new cool-blue LCD
display provides crystal clear and easy to read information. Fully programmable, the
SOLO S2 is uniquely Escort and simply elegant.
The Solo S2 can be seen in the 2003 CES
Innovations Showcase and at Escort's display booth #2116.
Escort Inc. created the high-performance radar detector market in 1978, and has
been issued more patents in the radar detector field than all radar detector manufacturers combined.
ESCORT also manufactures the award-winning
Passport 8500 X50,
Passport 7500S, and the
Passport SR7 radar and laser detectors.
